The Specialised Group of NMR (GERMN) of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) is pleased to announce the XVI Manuel Rico NMR School.

As usual, the School will take place in Jaca (Spain). This edition will be held from 1st to 6th June, 2025.

This well-established bi-annual summer course is aimed at PhD students, postdocs, technical staff of NMR facilities and researchers in general, from academy and industry, interested in deepening their understanding of NMR. The course covers theoretical aspects, state-of-the-art methods and applications in fields as diverse as Molecular Chemistry, Materials, Biology, Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Industry, including solution-state, and solid-state NMR, as well as MRI techniques.

The School counts with a panel of experienced teachers that are recognized scientists in different fields of NMR. Besides its academic value, the School provides a very friendly atmosphere, stimulating discussions and informal interactions between participants and teachers, creating the basis for joint projects and collaborations. We really encourage people who are interested in improving their knowledge in the exciting field of NMR to enroll in the School, which will surely meet their expectations.

We are excited to offer a variety of activities to help you relax and connect with other participants during the course:

Basketball and Ping Pong tournaments: Show off your skills or simply have fun competing in friendly matches.

Board Games: Unwind with classic board games and make new friends in a relaxed setting.

Cultural Visits: Discover the rich history of Jaca with a guided city tour and an exclusive visit to the Ciudadela de Jaca, a stunning 16th-century fortress.

Jaca is one of the privileged cities of Aragon for its communications with both sides of the Pyrenees, for its mild and pleasant climate and for its cultural and sporting offers.

We will take advantage of Jaca’s proximity to the Pyrenees to visit and hike through the splendid «Lost Mountain/Ordesa Valley» National Park. In Winter, the most attractive feature is snow sports on the ski slopes of Candanchu, Astun, Panticosa and Formigal.

Throughout the year, in addition to the Municipal Pavilion of Ice, the possibilities of high mountain sports, hiking or cycling, allow you to climb the highest Pyrenean peaks or travel 90 km of Camino de Santiago. In addition, Jaca alternates every two years with Oloron the headquarters of the Folkloric Festival of the Pyrenees.

How to get there.
